Her hand rose to her lips and she stared up at the stars, feeling her heart grow, and grow, and grow.

About This Quote

When the narrator of this poem describes how pretty the moon is, he’s speaking about her. The moon is lovely and beautiful, representing the woman that the narrator loves. Of course, what someone means when they say something like this depends on who they are speaking to. If you’re speaking to someone who’s in love with you, you may want to use something more subtle.

But if you’re speaking to someone who you’re not in love with, maybe you can use this phrase to show that this person is attractive in some way. When you tell a friend or family member that someone is really pretty or handsome or well put together, it’s kind of like saying that their hands are lovely. It doesn’t really mean anything in terms of what someone else thinks about them physically, but it can be a nice compliment for them because it comes from their heart.
